About fund 58
first responder scholarship
Fund 58 is a special project created in memoriam of Shayne Raxter. Shayne Raxter grew up in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He attended Henry Ford II High School, Adrian College and served as a firefighter with the Detroit Fire Department. Sports were his passion. He played football in high school and in college. Shayne also enjoyed traveling with the Detroit Fire Department Softball Team. Shayne left us far too soon in September of 2021, leaving behind a special legacy.
On the field, Shayne, wore number 58, battling with his team to the end of each game. A great teammate on the field and in life, Shayne had a knack for singling out anyone that was struggling, only to build them up to be their best. Off the field, Shayne had a huge personality that engulfed a room and a bigger heart that he shared with his family, friends and brother firefighters.
With great pleasure, Hit The Cut, Inc. is proud to launch, “Fund 58”. Among other endeavors, it will provide a one (1) year scholarship to a high school senior to be used towards first year college expenses.
Any additional proceeds will be used for the benefit of first responders in Metro-Detroit.
